About the player
Fermín Antonini came up through Sarmiento de Junín, having joined the club's youth ranks after leaving Eclipse Villegas, and worked his way into the first team in 2016, where he stayed for six years as a midfielder.
A switch to Colón fell through over economic disagreements, and instead Antonini joined Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza on 9 January 2024 as a free agent, tying himself to the club through the end of 2026. He has not featured for Argentina at any youth or senior level, despite also holding Italian citizenship.
Right-footed and comfortable as a central or defensive midfielder, Antonini's career has been built on steady progression through clubs rather than a single defining moment, with his move to Gimnasia M. representing his first experience of Argentine football outside Buenos Aires Province.
