About the player
Felix Schönegger's route to SKU Amstetten's first team ran through the club's own reserves. Having come up through youth football at USC Seitenstetten, the AKA St. Pölten academy and SG Waidhofen/Ybbs, he joined Amstetten's youth setup in 2023 and worked his way into the Amateure side, where in the 2024/25 season he scored eight goals in 26 appearances in the 2. Landesliga West as the team went up. That form was enough to earn him a first professional contract with the club in May 2025, running to the summer of 2027.
His senior debut came on 25 July 2025 in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup against SG Kremser SC/Rehberg. Schönegger started the match, which finished 1-1 after extra time before Amstetten won it 3-2 on penalties. A week later, on 1 August, he made his 2. Liga debut against SK Sturm Graz II, sent on as a substitute in the 87th minute. Since then he has featured around a dozen times for the first team across competitions, without yet getting off the mark in front of goal.
