About the player
Fricio Caicedo came through the LDU Quito academy in Ecuador, working his way up through the club's youth ranks including the U-20 side, though he never made a senior competitive appearance in Quito's first team. His path to professional football instead ran through Costa Rica, where he signed for FC Moravia FCM in 2026. Interest from Belgium's Royal Antwerp was reported around the same time, but the move that materialised took him to Major League Soccer instead: Inter Miami CF took him on loan from the Costa Rican club.
Caicedo made his first appearance for the club with the reserve side, Inter Miami II, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in a win over Toronto FC II. He has not yet featured for Inter Miami's first team.
Internationally, the defender progressed through Ecuador's youth setup at U15, U17 and U20 level. He was handed his debut for the national team as a second-half substitute for Pervis Estupiñán, coming on during a friendly victory over Saudi Arabia. That appearance remains his only senior cap so far.
