About the player
Larry Vásquez Ortega captained Colombia's under-21 side to gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2018, a run in which he earned five caps for the age-group team. The midfielder from El Zulia, North Santander, has instead built his career club by club.
His break came at Patriotas, where he played for four seasons before switching to Mexico with Tigres UANL, where he won the Apertura 2017 title in Liga MX. A return to Colombian football followed at Atlético Junior, where he lifted the Superliga Colombiana in 2020, before a move to Millonarios: the Copa Colombia in 2022, the Torneo Apertura in 2023, and a second Superliga Colombiana in 2024. He wore the number 5 shirt during his time at the club.
After Millonarios, his path took an unexpected turn to Brazil, where he joined Amazonas FC in 2025 and added the Campeonato Amazonense and the Taça Rio to his collection, again wearing number 5.
