Pedro David Gallese Quiróz

In a 2017 World Cup qualifier against Argentina, he played on with a fractured wrist and kept a clean sheet. In 2019, he saved a penalty against Uruguay on Peru's run to the final of the Copa América.

He started out at Universidad San Martín, where he won the Peruvian Primera División in 2008 and 2010 before a loan spell at Atlético Minero and a move to Juan Aurich. In June 2016 he joined Mexican side Veracruz, and when the club dissolved in 2019 he returned home on loan to Alianza Lima, winning the Torneo Clausura and being named Peruvian Player of the Year. In January 2020 he signed with Orlando City in MLS, where he became the club's all-time leader in appearances, wins and clean sheets, won the U.S. Open Cup in 2022 and was named MLS Save of the Year that season. In January 2026 he signed for Deportivo Cali on a free transfer, with his contract running to the end of 2027.

For the national team, Gallese has earned more than 127 caps, becoming the first Peruvian goalkeeper to reach 100 appearances for the country. He played at the 2018 World Cup and has been a fixture across several Copa América campaigns, including Peru's third-place finish in 2015. In 2023 he was arrested in Spain following an altercation with police.
