Fløya

Runa Vikestad wore the green shirt from 2001 until 2005, and the stretch of Tromsø overlooking the city is where the club took its name in 1926, four years after it had started life as Frigg and had to give the name up when another organisation was already using it. Fløya mountain gave the replacement, and it stuck.

The women's side held a place in the Toppserien from 1990 to 2010 and took bronze in 2004 and 2005. Tone Røst Heimlund was at the centre of that run, scoring 18 goals in the 2005 league season before going on to take silver with the national team at the European Championship that year. Relegation ended the Toppserien years in 2010, and a second drop followed in 2014. A merger with Tromsø IL, agreed in December 2020 and meant to take effect for the 2022 season under the name TIL 2020, did not hold, and the team returned to playing as Fløya.

The men's side has its own, older mark on the record: the 1936 Nord-Norgesmesterskap, won with a 1–0 final victory over Nor of Narvik.

Matches against Tromsdalen still draw the city derby label. Fløya plays out of Romssa Arena, sharing the ground with Tromsø IL, its 6,691 seats set against the same skyline the club took its name from.
