Le Havre Women

In the spring of 2020, Les Havraises earned a promotion without playing to the finish: the season was cancelled midway through the pandemic, and the ranking froze with Le Havre sitting top of Division 2 on points-per-game. The club found itself in the top flight of French women's football all the same.

The women's section carries the club's old sky blue and navy, though "Les Havraises" belongs to them alone, distinct from the men's "Ciel et Marine." Youth teams had been training under the Le Havre badge since 2010, growing through regional football — a Ligue Normandie title in 2018, a Coupe de Normandie in 2016 — before that pandemic-shortened campaign pushed it into the top division for the first time. The stay was brief; Le Havre dropped back down, then won Division 2 outright in 2022 to return, this time on merit rather than arithmetic.

Mélinda Mendy came up through the club's own academy to make that second promotion, one of the names locals point to when they talk about the pipeline behind the first team. Under Maxime Di Liberto, and with Vincent Volpe still running the club since 2017, Le Havre pushed as far as the Coupe de France semi-finals in 2025, its deepest run in the competition. The derby against Caen remains the fixture that empties the town's other plans for the weekend.

Stade Océane holds the big occasions, its 25,178 seats far outsizing the crowds a women's fixture in Normandy usually draws, while the Yuri-Gagarin ground still hosts training and the smaller afternoons.
