Shifnal Town FC

Connor Patterson took Shifnal Town up in 2025, beating 1874 Northwich 2–0 in the play-off final after a runners-up finish in the Midland Football League Premier Division, and the club heads into the Northern Premier League Division One West this season.

It started as St Andrew's Youth Club FC in 1964, became Shifnal Juniors four years later, and only settled on Shifnal Town in 1972. The lease on Admirals Park was pulled in 1985, and the club had to resign from its league and drop back to the Shropshire County League. It bought its own land and built Phoenix Park, now known for sponsorship reasons as the Acoustafoam Stadium, and used it to work back up through the Midland Football Combination.

The best season came in 2020–21: the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division title, the TJ Vickers Cup and a 4–0 win over Whitchurch Alport in the Shropshire Senior Cup final.

Shifnal's name in the wider game rests on William Kenyon-Slaney, a local figure credited with scoring the first goal in an international football match, back in 1873, long before the club itself existed.
