Vindbjart

Twenty-two matches, twenty-two wins: Vindbjart went through the 1995 season in the 3. divisjon (Avdeling 7). Two decades later there was no promotion at the end of it, but the shock carried further: in the second round of the 2015 Norwegian Cup, Vindbjart put four goals past Eliteserien side IK Start without reply, Øyvind Gausdal scoring twice either side of goals from Christian Follerås and Thomas Zernichow.

The club's roots reach back to 1896, though the Vindbjart Fotballklubb that plays today was reconstituted as its own legal entity in 1998. It has stayed a yellow-and-black club throughout, known locally as de gule og svarte, and has sent players such as Øyvind Gausdal and Tore Løvland on into Norway's top flight from Vennesla.

There was no third title to match 1995, only near misses: Vindbjart finished runner-up in the 2. divisjon in both 2013 and 2014 before settling back into the third tier, where it plays now.

None of that has ever mattered as much locally as the fixture against Vennesla IL. The two clubs share the same small town and split its colours between them — Vindbjart in yellow and black, Vennesla IL in red and black — and a meeting between them is known simply as the Vennesla derby.
