Eis-Arena Passau
Passau, Germany
Formerly: IceGate, IceGate powered by CommuniGate
The Eis-Arena Passau is compact and functional. The structure is straightforward: an indoor facility where the surface is artificial ice.
The capacity is modest. It holds 1,500 spectators, a mix of 200 seated places and roughly 1,300 standing spots. That name, specifically "IceGate powered by CommuniGate," lasted until the end of the 2009/2010 season, after which the branding expired and the venue reverted to Eis-Arena Passau.
It serves primarily the EHF Passau Black Hawks, whose senior and youth teams use the rink. Founded in 1997, the club has called this place home. Other users include ice stock sports clubs and figure skating departments such as TV Passau. There is no attendance record to boast of, nor any major finals hosted here. It is simply the ice rink for Passau.
