Sportpark Skoatterwâld: Stadium in Heerenveen

Sportpark Skoatterwâld is not the main house for sc Heerenveen, which plays elsewhere, but it is where the club builds its players and hosts its women’s side.

The complex opened in 1996, replacing the older Sportpark Noord. It has kept its natural grass surface through the years. The capacity is fixed at 3,000 seats. Plans for a new facility were discussed in 2019 and 2023, but municipal approval left them pending. The stadium fell silent during those talks, but no work has started.

VV Heerenveen also calls this place home, alongside the reserves and academy teams. The KNVB Cup has drawn visitors here. sc Heerenveen Vrouwen took apart Feyenoord in a quarter-final in 2021 and beat PSV in the Round of 16 in 2024. These results made life awkward for the visitors, but no official attendance record was set and none is expected.
