Stadium
Stade Jules Rimet
Sussargues, France
Unlike the old Montpellier ground that once held twenty thousand, the Stade Jules Rimet sits quietly on the edge of a small town, understood as part of the greater Montpellier area. It opened in 2008 on a site near the D54 Route de Castrie, standing on a patch of artificial turf that has seen more than just local games. The venue was designed with a capacity of 2,500.
It is the home of the Montpellier women’s team, who have used the pitch for matches in the French Division One. The ground has a history of being used by the club’s reserve side as well. One such fixture on November 10, 2013, saw the hosts win 3-1 in front of a modest crowd of 300.
