Stade Ouezzin Coulibaly

The pitch at Stade Ouezzin Coulibaly is artificial. The synthetic grass covers the playing area. A sell-out crowd of 5,000 is squeezed into the stands on Avenue de la Liberté, Commune III. The stadium is shared. The ground was built in 1933. It was named Stade Frédéric Assomption when the French colonial authorities erected the stands. The name changed to Stade Ouezzin Coulibaly in 1960, after Mali gained independence and the committee decided to honour the activist Daniel Ouezzin Coulibaly. The first major renovation took place in 2001 for the Africa Cup of Nations. The second came in 2010, inaugurated by President Amadou Toumani Touré. The most recent work was completed in April 2025 under the transition government to meet CAF standards. The ground serves as a hub for Malian football, past and present. The stadium remains a place where local teams compete, and where the community gathers beyond the pitch.
