The Proliga Women is the premier professional volleyball competition in Indonesia, organized by the Persatuan Bola Voli Seluruh Indonesia (PBVSI). It represents the apex of the sport in the country, operating as a closed system where participation is determined by invitation and financial capability rather than performance in lower tiers. The league does not feature promotion or relegation, distinguishing it from the amateur Livoli structure which operates a separate pyramid.
Matches are held in centralized host cities such as Sentul, Surabaya, and Medan, meaning teams do not travel for every fixture. The 2026 season follows a regular season format before concluding with a "Final Four" knockout stage. A specific change for this season sees the third-place match and the Grand Final played in a Best-of-Three format. The competition currently includes eight clubs, with teams like Jakarta Livin Mandiri Women and Medan Falcons Women contesting for the title.
Jakarta Elektrik PLN holds the record for success with six titles, won between 2004 and 2017. The current reigning champions are Jakarta Pertamina Enduro, who secured the trophy in both 2025 and 2026. While the league shares sponsors and broadcast partners with its men’s counterpart, it often features a larger number of participating teams. Female players in the league have reportedly commanded higher salaries than their male counterparts in certain instances, highlighting the commercial growth of the women’s game.
Over the years, the competition has undergone several name changes due to sponsorship, most recently becoming the PLN Mobile Proliga. The 2020 and 2021 seasons were cancelled due to global health circumstances. The league continues to expand its footprint across Indonesia, with matches drawing support from fans in the host cities.
