The National Volleyball Association (NVA) is a professional men's indoor volleyball league in the United States. Founded in 2017 by Hall of Fame setter Lloy Ball and Bill Lee, the NVA began play in 2018. Based in Costa Mesa, California, it operates as an independent entity distinct from USA Volleyball, which does not officially sanction it as a tiered professional league. It serves primarily as a developmental platform for players wishing to maintain NCAA eligibility or play in international leagues simultaneously.
The league currently consists of 12 teams, including the Chicago Untouchables, LA Blaze, Las Vegas Ramblers, Ontario Matadors, Orange County Stunners, and Philadelphia Founders. These sides are organised into two conferences—the National and the American—each split into Central and Coastal divisions. The regular season runs from March to August, with each team playing approximately 10 games in an asymmetrical schedule. The top four teams from each conference advance to a single-elimination playoff tournament culminating in the NVA Cup Championship. The league operates on a closed franchise model without promotion or relegation.
The Orange County Stunners are the current reigning champions, having won their second title in 2023. Notable past champions include Team Pineapple (2018), Team LVC (2019), Utah Stingers (2020), and Las Vegas Ramblers (2022). The league's official website is nvausa.com.
