Superleague (Ukraine) 2025/26

The Ukrainian Volleyball Super League, known locally as the Superliga, stands as the premier professional volleyball competition in Ukraine. Founded in 1992 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the league operates under the direct control of the Ukrainian Volleyball Federation (FVU) after the federation assumed responsibility from the Professional Volleyball League of Ukraine in 2024. The competition serves as the highest tier for both men and women, sitting above the Higher League, which acts as the second division.

The structure of the season involves a double round-robin regular season followed by a playoff phase. In the men’s competition, the top two teams progress directly to the semi-finals, while those ranked third through sixth contest quarter-finals. All playoff series are decided over a best-of-three format. The lower-ranked teams engage in a mini-tournament to determine their final placement. The women’s league mirrors this framework. Promotion and relegation links the Super League with the Higher League; the team finishing last is relegated directly, while the side in second-to-last place enters a playoff against opponents from the second tier.

Historical dominance in the men’s division has long belonged to HC Lokomotiv Kharkiv, which secured 17 championships since independence. Recent success has seen Epicenter-Podolyany claim the title in the 2024/2025 season. In the women’s competition, VC Khimik previously held a reign of nine consecutive titles between 2011 and 2019. Bukovynka emerged as the current champion. The Superliga operates independently of the Ukrainian Cup, a knockout tournament ending in a Final Four, and the Super Cup, which matches the league and cup winners.

The league features clubs such as Burevіsnyk Chernihiv, DSO Ternopil, Epitsentr Podoliani, MHP Vinnytsia, Podillya Khmelnitsky, and Reshetylivka. These teams compete for national supremacy in a format that has evolved from its original name, the Premier League, to the Super League in 2000.
