Taça de Portugal 2026/27

The **Taça de Portugal de Voleibol** operates as the primary national knockout cup tournament for volleyball in Portugal. Organized by the **Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol (FPV)**, the competition runs for both men and women, maintaining separate histories and champion rosters within the national structure. For men, the tournament began in the 1964–65 season, with Sporting Espinho taking the first title. It stands alongside the top-tier league, the Campeonato Nacional de Voleibol Masculino, as a key domestic honour. The format requires clubs from the first, second, and third divisions to compete, excluding reserve teams. Progression leads to a Final Four weekend for the semi-finals and final, played at a neutral venue. SL Benfica holds the record with 21 titles. SC Espinho follows with 12, securing a record six consecutive wins between 1995–96 and 2000–01. Sporting CP claimed the 2025–26 title by defeating Benfica in the final. The women’s competition started later, in 1972–73, also following a knockout structure across the top three tiers. Leixões SC leads the all-time list with 10 titles, including six straight victories from 1974–75 to 1979–80. Castêlo da Maia GC holds eight titles, with five consecutive wins from 1995–96 to 1999–00. FC Porto won the 2025–26 edition by beating SC Braga. The tournament is distinct from the Supertaça de Portugal, which is a single match contested between the previous season's league champion and cup winner. Without other major domestic cup competitions in Portuguese volleyball, this event is regarded as the "prova rainha" or queen competition. Its prestige stems from the multi-stage knockout format and the significance of the Final Four stage.
