Taça de Portugal Women 2026/27

The Taça de Portugal de Voleibol Feminino stands as the premier knockout cup for women’s volleyball clubs in Portugal. Organised by the Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol (FPV), the tournament was established for the 1972–73 season. It operates independently of the league pyramid, meaning promotion and relegation do not apply. Instead, the competition serves as a standalone elimination event open to teams from the 1ª, 2ª, and 3ª Divisão. The structure begins with preliminary rounds for lower-division sides before narrowing to a main knockout phase. This phase typically involves eight teams, progressing through quarter-finals and semi-finals to a final. The latter stages are frequently consolidated into a “Final Four” weekend held in a single location, with all matches decided in a single leg. Victory in the cup grants the winner qualification for European competition. The prize is a place in the CEV Women’s Challenge Cup, the third-tier European club competition. This qualification applies unless the club has already secured a spot in a higher tier, such as the Champions League or CEV Cup, through their league performance. Leixões SC holds the record for the most titles, having won the competition ten times between 1975 and 2022. Other significant winners include Castêlo da Maia GC with eight titles, Boavista FC with seven, and CA Trofa alongside CD Ribeirense and Sporting CP, each claiming four. FC Porto secured its first title in the 2025–26 season by defeating SC Braga 3–1 in the final. Benfica also features in the history of major winners, holding three titles, including a victory in 2023–24 after a fifty-year absence. The tournament retains its traditional name without a prominent sponsor.
