Negeri Sembilan and Imigrasen played out a 2-2 draw in the Superliga's regular season on Saturday. The venue was Negeri Sembilan's home ground, where the hosts had been looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats. Imigrasen arrived with just one point from three matches.
Pedro Henrique gave Negeri Sembilan the lead in the 39th minute, putting the home side ahead just before half-time. The visitors responded immediately after the break, with M. Atede scoring in the 47th minute to level the contest. The momentum shifted sharply after that, with Imigrasen taking control of proceedings.
A. Rashid converted a penalty in the 77th minute to put the away side ahead for the first time. Negeri Sembilan responded with four substitutions in quick succession, bringing on N. Javabilaarivin, A. Ariffin, E. M. Nur Shakir and Pedro Henrique himself. The home side refused to accept defeat, and Rashid scored again in the 90+5th minute to secure a point for his side.
The statistics tell a story of contrast. Negeri Sembilan dominated possession at 60 per cent and registered 84 attacks compared to the visitors' 65. They also took eight corners to Imigrasen's two. Both sides registered five shots on target, but the home side wasted 12 attempts off target. Imigrasen were more clinical with just two shots off target.
The result leaves Negeri Sembilan sixth in the table on four points from three matches. They had lost their previous two games against Kelantan City and Melaka before this draw. Imigrasen remain 11th with just one point and have suffered two defeats, including a heavy 0-7 loss to Johor Darul Ta'zim.
