Alex Duncan Hartridge

Alex Hartridge came through the Exeter City academy, joining as an eight-year-old and signing his first professional contract with the club in April 2017. He made his first-team debut in the League Cup that November and went on to make 154 appearances for Exeter across all competitions, scoring three goals. Along the way he was farmed out on loan repeatedly to build up match experience: five separate spells at Truro City and three at Bath City.

Hartridge left Exeter when his contract expired in March 2024 and signed for Wycombe Wanderers as a free agent that July, though first-team opportunities there were limited to sixteen appearances. In January 2025 he returned to Exeter on loan for the rest of the season, featuring eighteen times in the league and scoring once.

He signed a one-year deal with Burton Albion on 1 September 2025 and made his debut against Lincoln City less than a fortnight later, in a game Burton lost 1-0. He went on to make close to forty league appearances that season, scoring three goals. His contract at Burton ran to the end of June 2026, after which he moved on to Plymouth Argyle on a two-year deal.

Hartridge's clearest mark on a major honours board came earlier, with Exeter City, who finished as runners-up in League Two in the 2021/22 season.
