Alejandro Alvarado Jr

Alejandro Alvarado Jr. came through the LA Galaxy academy and made his professional debut with the club's reserve side, LA Galaxy II, in the USL Championship in July 2020. He went on to make 12 league appearances there, scoring once. In September 2021, he left as a free agent for Portugal, signing with FC Vizela of the Primeira Liga.

His chances with Vizela's first team hit a wall quickly: nine league appearances over the following years, plus one appearance in the Portuguese Cup, where he scored. For the 2023–24 season, Vizela sent him on loan to third-tier side Vianense, where he made eight league appearances and scored twice in the Portuguese Cup.

In January 2025, Alvarado returned to the United States, signing with San Diego FC on a contract through 2026 with club options for 2027 and 2028. He appeared in 12 MLS matches for San Diego without registering a goal or an assist. In June 2025, he suffered a serious knee injury in a match against the Vancouver Whitecaps that required surgery and ended his season; his recovery was expected to take around ten months.

Alvarado holds dual US and Mexican citizenship. At youth level, he made nine appearances and scored once for the United States under-20 team in 2022 and 2023, and was part of the squad that won the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in 2022. He has not been called up to the senior national team.
