About the player
Beau Reus arrived at Heart of Midlothian on a free transfer after his contract with SK Beveren expired. He started the club's opening Scottish Premiership fixture too, a 2–1 defeat to Aberdeen, and had made eight appearances for Hearts by early September.
Reus is Dutch, born in Oudorp, and stands 1.98 metres tall. He came up through VV Kolping Boys and FC Volendam's academy before AZ Alkmaar took him into their youth system, where he stayed for five years. He made his senior debut for Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie, playing 32 times for the reserve side, and signed his first professional contract with AZ in 2021, though he never made a first-team appearance there.
He was central to the club's unbeaten run to the Challenger Pro League title in the 2025–26 season , conceding just 23 goals, the best defensive record in the division, and racking up 48 clean sheets across his time at the club, form that took Beveren up into the Belgian Pro League and earned him his move to Scotland.
Reus has represented the Netherlands at youth level but has not yet been capped by the senior side.
