Bozhidar Penchev

Bozhidar Penchev's career has been built entirely on free transfers. Every move he has made — out of Beroe Stara Zagora, out of Hebar Pazardzhik, out of Botev Vratsa — came at the end of a contract rather than through a fee.

He came up through the Beroe youth system and was handed a debut in the senior side during the 2020/2021 season, in the Parva Liga. The breakthrough took two more years. In 2022/2023 he was a regular starter, playing 28 league matches, and then left as a free agent in October 2023.

Hebar Pazardzhik signed him that same month. He left in June 2025.

The move to Botev Vratsa did not settle. Penchev played 14 league matches and two cup ties before being loaned out to Yantra Gabrovo in January 2026, dropping to the Vtora Liga for 14 games, with one further appearance in the efbet League. He went back to Botev in June 2026.

Septemvri Sofia took him on a free transfer in June 2026, on a contract running to June 2029. He has made seven efbet League appearances for the club so far, wearing the number 8.

Between 2022 and 2023 he was capped by the Bulgaria under-21 side, playing in Euro U21 qualifying and in friendlies. He is used as a midfielder or a defender, and is left-footed.
