David Babunski

Babunski was born in Skopje and joined FC Barcelona's La Masia academy in 2006, making 48 appearances for Barcelona B in the Segunda División and Segunda División B before leaving by mutual consent in January 2016.

He moved to Red Star Belgrade on a free transfer and won the Serbian SuperLiga title in the 2015–16 season. His career took him across three continents: a spell at Yokohama F. Marinos, followed by Ōmiya Ardija, both in Japan. He then returned to Europe, playing for FC Botoșani and FC Viitorul Constanța in Romania, before moving to Hungary for stints at Debreceni VSC and Mezőkövesd Zsóry SE. In July 2024 he joined Dundee United in Scotland, staying until May 2025, when he returned to North Macedonia to sign for FK Vardar.

Babunski made his senior international debut for North Macedonia on 14 August 2013 against Bulgaria and has since earned 18 caps for the national team. He also represented the North Macedonia under-21 side, where he was capped 27 times and scored five goals. In 2011, he was named Macedonian Young Sportsperson of the Year.
