About the player
Desmond Amoh Nketia arrived in Portuguese football through the youth ranks, moving on from spells with GAP Soccer Academy and Unistar Soccer Academy in Ghana to join UD Vilafranquense's under-19 side. His senior career began at Sporting Clube Ideal before a free transfer took him to Académica de Coimbra in 2022. It was a subsequent move to O Elvas CAD, though, that defined his early years in the game: in the fourth tier of Portuguese football, he scored seven goals in five matches in one Campeonato de Portugal group and then seven in six the following season in another, while also finding the net in the Taça de Portugal.
Nketia joined Feirense on a free transfer on a contract running to 2027, and has featured in Liga Portugal 2 this season, contributing three goals and two assists in his appearances so far.
He has not featured for Ghana at senior international level.
