Eduard Sobol

Sobol came through the youth ranks at FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia and made his senior debut with the club in 2011, playing 23 league matches before Shakhtar Donetsk signed him in February 2013. His years registered at Shakhtar were spent largely away from the club, with loan spells at Metalurh Donetsk, Metalist Kharkiv, Zorya Luhansk, Slavia Prague, Jablonec and Club Brugge. He nonetheless collected two Ukrainian Premier League titles, the Ukrainian Cup and the Ukrainian Super Cup during his time on Shakhtar's books.

The loan to Club Brugge became permanent in January 2021 for a reported fee of €3.5 million. In January 2023 he moved on to RC Strasbourg Alsace for €2.5 million. His time there was interrupted by a loan to KRC Genk in 2024, and lack of playing time and injuries led to his contract being terminated by mutual consent in January 2026.

Sobol returned to FK Jablonec, the club he already knew from his loan spell there in 2018–19, signing on a free transfer until June 2027. At international level, he made his debut for Ukraine in 2016 and has earned 29 caps, having also represented the country at every youth level from under-16 to under-21. He was part of the Ukraine squad at UEFA Euro 2020.
