About the player
The season that pushed Emirhan Başyigit towards the first team was one he spent away from it. Loaned to Beyoğlu Yeni Çarşı for 2023–24, he played 18 league matches and two in the Turkish Cup, and finished the year without a goal — a defender's return.
He came back to Sivasspor for 2024–25 and made his Süper Lig debut in August 2024. Before the loan his football had been played almost entirely inside the club: he joined the Sivasspor academy in 2018, having started at Kapadokya Avanos Spor in 2013, and worked up through the under-19 and reserve sides.
Turkey have used him at every age group from under-16 upwards — under-16, under-17 and under-19 — and in September 2025 he was named in the under-21 squad for qualifying for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
The move that followed came in the summer of 2026, when he signed for Bursaspor on a contract running to 2028, for a fee reported at around 600,000 euros.
