About the player
Football took Yerkebulan Nurgaliyev from Spartak Semey to a return spell at Okzhetpes more than nine years after his first, brief one. He signed for the club back in January 2017 but departed after a single match, heading out on loan to Bulgaria's Vereya.
At Yelimay, Nurgaliyev found the form that had eluded him elsewhere. Across 41 matches he scored 17 goals, numbers that earned him both the club's Player of the Season and Midfielder of the Season honours.
A second stint at Kaspiy Aktau followed in March 2025, where he added four goals in 14 appearances before a free transfer took him back to Okzhetpes in March 2026, this time on a contract running to the end of the year. He has represented Kazakhstan at Under-19 level, with three caps, though a senior call-up has not followed.
Nurgaliyev's early years at Spartak Semey coincided with the club's rise into the Premier League in 2013, before relegation the following season. The clubs since have rarely offered long stays.
