Florian Pick

Florian Pick has become one of the stories of the season at 1. FC Saarbrücken, scoring six goals in his first seven games after his free transfer from SC Preußen Münster and reaching eleven goal involvements — seven goals and four assists — by the eleventh matchday of the 2025/26 campaign. After a 2:4 defeat to SC Verl, he called it a "wake-up call" for the team.

Born in Wittlich, Pick came through the youth ranks at JSG Wittlich, Eintracht Trier, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Schalke 04, before starting his senior career with Schalke's reserve side. He returned to Kaiserslautern, first with the second team and then the first team, and along the way spent a loan spell at 1. FC Magdeburg, where he won the 3. Liga title and the Sachsen-Anhalt regional cup.

The biggest move of his career came in 2020, when he joined 1. FC Heidenheim in a deal worth around €2.6 million that also took teammate Christian Kühlwetter to the club. A loan at FC Ingolstadt 04 followed in 2022, but he returned to Heidenheim in time to be part of the squad that won the 2. Bundesliga championship in 2022/23 and secured promotion to the Bundesliga — a period Pick himself described as a "football fairy tale."

After leaving Heidenheim, he had a season at 1. FC Nürnberg before a brief stop at Preußen Münster, then moved on to Saarbrücken in July 2025. The club missed out on promotion the previous season, losing in the play-offs to Eintracht Braunschweig.
