About the player
Gijs Bolk took his first steps in the game at UD Weerselo, the club in his home village.
The step up to Emmen's first team came in January 2024, and he made his senior debut on 25 May that year, in a play-off semi-final against NAC Breda. Two months later, in July 2024, he signed his first professional contract with the club, tying him to Emmen until June 2026.
After a single play-off appearance in 2023/24 and three outings in the Eerste Divisie the following season, he took his tally to 35 competitive appearances for Emmen without scoring a goal.
In June 2025, Emmen announced that Bolk would leave on a free transfer once his contract expired, with De Graafschap securing his signature on a two-year deal that includes the option of a third season, running from 1 July 2026.
