About the player
Safronov's biggest moment on a football pitch came in the promotion play-offs on 16 June 2024, when he scored a hat-trick against Novosibirsk to help Rotor Volgograd secure a return to the First League. It capped a season in which he had become one of the side's key attacking players after joining the Volgograd club in 2022 as a free agent.
His path to that point ran through several clubs. Safronov started out with Sibir Novosibirsk, staying on with the club through its rebranding as FC Novosibirsk, before a spell at Olimp-Dolgoprudny and then the move to Rotor. In July 2024 he left for Sochi, but the switch was brief: by January 2025 he was back in Volgograd.
The second spell at Rotor proved productive. In August 2025 he was named Best Player of the Round in the First League, and he went on to finish as the club's top scorer in the 2025–2026 season. That form preceded another free transfer, taking him to Chelyabinsk in July 2026.
Safronov has not been capped for Russia's senior national team, though he has represented the PFL Select Team on three occasions.
