Ivan Timoshenko

Ivan Timoshenko took the long way into professional football, starting out at the amateur club Elektroavtomatika in his native Stavropol before a move to Moscow put him in Veles' youth ranks. He made his senior debut there and was part of the squad that won the Russian Second League's West zone in the 2019/20 season.

A move to Chornomorets Novorossiysk followed, and a loan spell in Slovakia at Železiarne Podbrezová brought a second league title, this time in the Slovak 2. Liga. Timoshenko returned to Russia in July 2022 to join Rodina Moscow on a free transfer. In the 2022/23 Russian First League season he finished as the competition's top scorer with 14 goals, level with Geodeon Guzina, and was named the season's best scorer. Across all competitions that year he struck 18 times in 26 matches, second in the whole of Russian football only to Fyodor Chalov.

Promotion proved elusive at first — Rodina finished fifth in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns — and Timoshenko spent the 2024/25 season away on loan at Akron Togliatti. He came back to Rodina for 2025/26 and played a central role as the club finally got over the line, finishing top of the FNL table and securing its first-ever promotion to the Russian Premier League. By that point Timoshenko had established himself as Rodina's all-time leading scorer in the FNL era, with more than 40 goals for the club.
