About the player
Kerr grew up in Edinburgh and came through the youth ranks at St Johnstone, making his senior debut in 2014. At East Fife he made 67 league appearances and scored 11 goals, and at Queen of the South he added 18 appearances and 4 goals before St Johnstone recalled him in January 2018. He finished his time at McDiarmid Park with 113 league appearances and 5 goals.
In August 2021 Wigan Athletic signed him for a fee reported to be between £500,000 and £600,000, though the club never confirmed the exact figure. He was part of the squad that won the title in his first season, 2021–22. Kerr went on to captain the side, making 115 league appearances and scoring 5 goals during his five years at the club, before his contract expired in May 2026.
He then returned north of the border, joining Hibernian on a free transfer in June 2026 on a two-year deal running to the summer of 2028.
Kerr represented Scotland at Under-21 level, earning six caps in 2018, but has not been capped by the senior national side.
