John Kleber

John Kleber's career has taken him further afield than most Brazilian forwards. Born in Campo Mourão, Paraná, he came through Ponte Preta and made his Série A debut there in 2017 before Corinthians took him on, first on loan and then permanently. The move never yielded a first-team appearance for the São Paulo giants, and after a loan to Rio Branco-PR and a spell at São José, Kleber left Brazil altogether in 2023.

That departure, to Uruguay's Juventud, set off a run through six countries in three years — Kazakhstan, Honduras, Costa Rica and Guatemala all followed. It was in Honduras, at Motagua, that everything clicked: Kleber scored 14 goals in the Liga Nacional, finished as the club's top scorer for the 2025/2026 season and won the Clausura 2025 title with them. The goals came at a rate he had not managed anywhere else on his travels.

Danubio signed him as a free agent from Motagua in July 2026, bringing him back to Uruguay, where his 2023 spell at Juventud had also produced a strong scoring return. The early appearances in Liga AUF colours have yet to bring a goal, leaving him to reproduce in Montevideo the form that made him decisive in Tegucigalpa.
