Juan José Cáceres was born in Dock Sud, Argentina, to Paraguayan parents, and it is Paraguay he represents at international level.
Cáceres left South America in January 2025, moving from Lanús to Dinamo Moscow for a reported €3.4 million on a contract running to December 2029.
Coach Gustavo Alfaro named him in Paraguay's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, and Cáceres started every one of Paraguay's six matches at the tournament, including the Round of 16 defeat to France.
