About the player
Martin Banev came through the Cherno More Varna academy, working his way from the club's U17 side to a first professional contract before making his senior debut in 2024. Rather than pushing straight into the first team, he has been sent out to sharpen his game in the Bulgarian Second League. His first loan took him to Litex Lovech for the 2024–2025 season, and he returned to Varna at the end of that campaign. A second loan followed for 2025–2026, this time to FC Sevlievo, where he remains contracted through the end of that season.
The right-footed Banev stands 185 cm tall, a physical profile that suits a modern midfielder. Neither of his loan moves has involved a transfer fee, pointing to arrangements built around game time rather than financial return for his parent club.
