Mauro Alejandro Brasil Alcaire

Mauro Brasil made his professional debut for El Tanque Sisley in September 2017 and captained the side at just 18. Peñarol acquired half of his rights in early 2018 but he never played a first-team match for the club, spending the following seasons out on loan instead — first at Rampla Juniors, then at Cerro, and finally at Cerro Largo.

That last loan spell turned permanent in January 2021, and Brasil became a fixture at Cerro Largo, taking the captain's armband and passing the century mark in appearances for the club. A move to Mexico followed in January 2022, when Celaya signed him for the Liga de Expansión MX. He featured 31 times there and scored three goals, including an appearance in the Apertura 2022 final against Atlante, a tie Celaya lost 3-1 on aggregate; Brasil was involved in the mistake that led to Atlante's opening goal.

He returned to Cerro Largo in January 2023, and that year brought his individual recognition in Uruguay: he was picked for the AUF Ideal Team for February and named among the substitutes in the AUF Ideal Team of the Year. In July 2024 he moved to Chile to join Cobreloa, making nine league appearances, before returning to Cerro Largo again in February 2025 for a further 15 league games.

In January 2026 Brasil signed for Uzbek side Dinamo Samarqand as a free agent, where he made two appearances before a further move to Danubio that July.
