About the player
Mohammed Sadat Abubakari, known simply as Mohammed Sadat, took the long way to Sandviken IF. He started out with Bolga AllStars in his native Ghana before moving to Sweden in 2019 to join Gottne IF in the lower leagues. A free transfer took him to AFC Eskilstuna in the Superettan at the start of 2020, but his contract there was cut short in the summer of 2021. He found a way back into regular football with Linköping City in Division 1 Södra, contributing a goal in thirteen matches before signing for Sandviken IF on a free transfer in March 2022.
Since arriving at Sandviken, the left-footed midfielder has made more than seventy appearances and scored at least five goals, featuring as the club has competed in both Division 1 Norra and Superettan.
Born in Savelugu, Ghana, Sadat built his career step by step rather than through a single breakthrough move, working his way up through Sweden's lower divisions before finding a home at Sandviken. There is no record of him having represented Ghana at international level, his footballing story so far has been shaped almost entirely on Swedish pitches.
