About the player
Nurgaini Buribayev is a central midfielder who plays with his left foot. Born in Shymkent, he came through the Kairat Academy in Almaty before continuing his development with FK Astana's under-19 side and later the reserve team at Akademia Ontustik.
His senior career began at FK Turan, and he spent time at Okzhetpes for a first stint before returning to Turan. A move to Tobol Kostanay followed, but 2025 turned into a season of near-constant transfers: after a single appearance for Tobol, he joined Kaspiy Aktau in the First Division, where he made nine appearances, before moving on again to Irtysh Pavlodar in the same division, featuring 14 times there.
Buribayev returned to Okzhetpes at the start of 2026, this time in the Kazakhstan Premier League. The switch has brought him regular football and a return in front of goal: across 22 appearances for the club this season he has scored four goals and set up two more.
