Nelson Okeke

Nelson Okeke's route into Czech football began in Nigeria, where he came through the New Generation Academy before, in October 2018, moving to Sparta Prague after a successful trial. He spent years developing in the club's youth and reserve setup, playing for Sparta Prague B in the Czech National League and signing his first professional contract with the B team in the autumn of 2020. A senior breakthrough moment came in August 2021, when he was named as a non-playing substitute for Sparta's first team in a Champions League qualifier against Monaco, a taste of the level he was working towards without yet featuring on the pitch. In June 2023 he committed his future to Sparta with a new contract.

The step into regular first-team football came via a loan to Bohemians 1905, arranged in January 2025 for the rest of that season and then extended into the following campaign. At Bohemians, playing in the Czech First League, Okeke started scoring goals, including one against Jablonec in August 2025 — the club he would go on to join. That loan spell proved decisive: on 16 January 2026, Okeke completed a permanent transfer to FK Jablonec from Sparta Prague B.

A right-footed central midfielder, Okeke stands 184 cm tall, physical attributes that fit his role in the middle of the park. He plays for Jablonec, the club where his development finally translates into a fresh challenge in the Czech top flight, this time on a permanent footing rather than a loan.
