Savinho's move to Manchester City in July 2024 came with a fee that could rise to £33.6 million, but it was the season before that made the club willing to pay it. On loan at Girona from Troyes, the left-footed winger made 37 La Liga appearances, scored nine goals and set up ten more, finishing the campaign in the division's Team of the Season and topping the league for successful dribbles with 104. It was the clearest sign yet of what he could do once given a settled run in a first team.

That breakthrough followed a strange detour. Instead he went straight out on loan, first to PSV Eindhoven, where he made just six senior appearances but still picked up a KNVB Cup and a Johan Cruyff Shield, then to Girona.

Before any of that, he had already won a Brazilian Championship, a Copa do Brasil and three Campeonato Mineiro titles with Atlético Mineiro, and at youth level he was part of the side that won the South American U-15 Championship, scoring four goals, and later the South American U-20 title.

At Manchester City he has added an FA Community Shield, an FA Cup and an EFL Cup to that collection. He has also broken into the Brazil national team, making his debut against England in March 2024 and scoring his first international goal against Paraguay at that summer's Copa América.
