Scott Banks

Scott Banks joined FC St. Pauli from Crystal Palace in August 2023, and a month into his spell he suffered a cruciate ligament injury. He returned to contribute to the team's promotion push, and on 19 May 2024, in the final match of the 2. Bundesliga season against SV Wehen Wiesbaden, he came on as a substitute in the 78th minute and set up Danel Sinani for the winning goal. The 2-1 victory secured the 2. Bundesliga title and promotion to the Bundesliga. The loan was made permanent that July.

Banks started out at Linlithgow Rose before Dundee United took him into their academy, where he signed his first professional contract in 2018. A loan at Clyde followed in the 2018-19 season: 15 appearances, one goal, and Man of the Match in the playoff final that sealed promotion from Scottish League Two, alongside the club's Goal of the Season award. After a single senior appearance for Dundee United, he moved to Crystal Palace in January 2020 for a reported fee of around £252,000.

Alloa Athletic and Dunfermline Athletic gave him limited game time, but Bradford City, where he spent the 2022-23 season, proved more productive: 36 appearances and six goals, and the Supporters' Trust Young Player of the Year award. That form fed into the St. Pauli move that eventually turned permanent. In his first season as a Bundesliga player, 2024-25, he made 12 league appearances for the club.
