About the player
Sebastian Wimmer came up through SK Bad Wimsbach 1933 and the AKA Linz academy before signing for LASK in 2011, and within a year he had moved on to FK Austria Wien. Rather than settling in Vienna, he spent the following seasons out on loan, first at SC-ESV Parndorf 1919, then SV Horn and SC Wiener Neustadt.
A move to Germany followed, with spells at VfL Wolfsburg II and SC Paderborn 07, where he was part of the squad that won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2017/18. Free transfers then took him to FC Viktoria Köln, champions of the Regionalliga West in 2018/19, and on to FSV Zwickau.
Returning home, Wimmer settled into Upper Austrian football with FC Juniors OÖ and LASK Amateure OÖ, scoring 17 times in 79 league appearances across the two spells. He joined SKU Amstetten in 2024. Off the pitch, he holds UEFA B and C coaching licenses and works as an individual coach alongside his playing career.
