About the player
Tiago Ferreira came through Porto 's academy after earlier spells at Infesta and Boavista. His career since leaving that academy in 2014 has been a tour of European and beyond-Europe football, taking in Belgium, Romania, Hungary, Iran and Albania before a return to Portuguese football.
He later spent time at MTK Budapest in Hungary, then moved to Tractor S.C. in Iran in 2022 before joining Albanian side Kukësi.
By the end of 2022 he was back in Portugal, first at Trofense, then at Leiria from June 2023, where he made 41 appearances. He joined Pacos Ferreira in the summer of 2025.
Ferreira's representative honours date back to his youth international days with Portugal, where he was capped extensively across every age group from under-15 to under-21, totalling 84 matches. He reached the final of the Under-20 World Cup with Portugal in 2011. That same year, Portugal's president, Cavaco Silva, made him a knight of the Order of Prince Henry.
