Valerijs Lizunovs

Valerijs Lizunovs made his senior debut with BFC Daugavpils in 2020, going on to make 24 league appearances and score twice before the end of the 2021 season. In 2022 he signed for RFS, but the move came with an immediate loan back to Daugavpils, where he spent the next two seasons — 61 league appearances and 19 goals across 2022 and 2023.

A loan to FK Tukums 2000 followed in 2024, split between the Virsliga and the 1. Liga, where he added seven more goals in total. He returned to Daugavpils on loan for 2025, making 31 league appearances and scoring five times. Throughout these years his contract stayed with RFS, and he was registered with the club during their Virsliga title wins in 2023 and 2024 and their 2024 Latvian Cup success, though the loan spells meant he made no official appearances for the first team in those campaigns. He is credited by some as a winner of the 2025 Latvian Supercup, despite being on loan at Daugavpils and left out of the matchday squad for that final.

Lizunovs has represented Latvia at every youth level. In the 2026 season he has been scoring nine Virsliga goals and adding two assists in 26 appearances, with a further goal in the Latvian Cup.
