Wílmar Enrique Barrios Terán

Wílmar Barrios made his professional debut for Deportes Tolima in a Copa Mustang match against Boyacá Chicó, and by 2015 had earned a place in the Superliga Colombiana Team of the Year. He also helped Tolima lift the Colombian Cup in 2014 before a €2.7 million move to Boca Juniors in the summer of 2016.

At Boca, Barrios established himself as a regular starter and collected two Argentine Primera División titles, in 2016–17 and 2017–18, along with the Supercopa Argentina in 2018. His form that year was also recognised outside the domestic league, with a place in the Copa Libertadores Team of the Tournament.

Zenit Saint Petersburg paid €15 million for him in February 2019. He has won seven Russian Premier League titles, two Russian Cups and five Russian Super Cups since arriving. Individually, he was named the league's Defensive Midfielder of the Season in 2019–20 and has appeared in the List of 33 Best Football Players of the Russian Premier League seven times.

Barrios has also been a fixture for Colombia since his debut in a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Brazil. He played against Japan, Poland and England at the 2018 World Cup itself, then went on to Copa América in 2019 and 2021, the latter ending with a bronze medal for Colombia. His first international goal came in a friendly against Mexico in September 2022.
