About the player
Si Yang was born in Barcelona and holds Chinese heritage. He came through the club's youth ranks and eventually made the step up to the first team, going on to make his professional debut in the Chinese Super League.
In 2017 the club sent him out on loan to Grulla Morioka in Japan's J3 League. He made one appearance during that spell before returning to Shanghai. A right-back by preference, he plays with his right foot and has since settled back into the Shanghai SIPG squad, now wearing the number 22 shirt.
