About the player
Yerkebulan Seydakhmet made his mark early. Handed his Kazakhstan Premier League debut for Taraz at 17, he moved to Ufa in the Russian Premier League within a year, becoming the first player born in 2000 to appear in that competition. He scored on his debut against Hungary in March 2018 at the age of 18, making him the youngest goalscorer in the national team's history at the time. A second international goal came against Andorra that October, before a foot injury the same month interrupted his progress and his run of caps ended at six.
A loan to Levski Sofia in Bulgaria in 2019 was cut short by injury after three appearances. He returned to Kazakhstan that June to join Kairat, where he spent the bulk of his career, punctuated by a loan to Zhetysu in 2020 and a spell with Kairat-Zhastar in 2021. At Kairat he won the Kazakhstan Championship in 2024 and the Kazakhstan Cup in 2021, having already finished as league runner-up in 2019.
He joined Aktobe on a free transfer in February 2025, taking the number 22 shirt. In his first season there he made 18 appearances, scoring once and setting up four further goals for his midfield partners.
