Ascot United

The 2022–23 season ended at Wembley Stadium, where Ascot United beat Newport Pagnell Town 1–0 to lift the FA Vase, with Kai Walters scoring the winning goal. Walters had come through the Chelsea and Wycombe Wanderers academies before arriving via Maidenhead United's youth setup, and George Lock, the club's record appearance holder with 325 games, played that final too. The same season brought the Combined Counties League Premier Division North title, won with more than a hundred points.

None of that was likely when the club took its present shape in 1965, formed by a men's team based at Sunninghill whose meetings after matches were held at The Wells, a pub in Cheapside village. The Racecourse Ground, where they have played since, stands on land leased from the Crown Estate inside the Ascot Racecourse complex; permission to build there was granted in 1968, and the clubhouse has been rebuilt more than once since, most recently in 2010, with a 3G pitch laid in 2019 and a new stand added in 2024.

Ascot United play in yellow and blue, which earned them the nickname the Yellamen. Before the Vase run, the honours board leaned local: the Hellenic League Challenge Cup twice, the Floodlit Cup once, and titles in the Reading League and the Reading Evening Post Cup from the mid-2000s.

Their sharpest rivalry is with Binfield, contested as the Forest Road derby. Windsor & Eton provide the other local needle.
