Baník Prievidza

Futbalový štadión Prievidza holds 7,500, with 2,500 of those on seats, and it has stayed the club's ground through nearly every version of the name written above the entrance.

The nickname "Baníci" — the Miners — points to that industrial stretch of the Upper Nitra region, and it outlasted every rebrand.

The one title on the shelf came in 1971–72, when the club won the 1. Since Slovak independence, nothing has followed — no league, no cup, no super cup. What Prievidza has produced instead is players. Martin Škrtel came through the youth ranks here before Liverpool made him captain, and Juraj Kucka left the same academy for spells at AC Milan and Lazio, then returned to Prievidza in 2024. Further back, Anton Malatinský played and later coached at the club, one of the few Czechoslovak footballers to survive the 1958 Munich air disaster.
